Hey, Apple Music Team!
I am a product designer and an artist (Stevie Tiles on Apple Music) and I’d love to help design better Tools for artists.

Product Designer, Tools, Apple Music for Artists, Culver City, CA
To Whomever It May Concern,
I am excited to apply for the product designer position designing Tools with Apple Music for Artists. I can offer a versatile product design skillset backed by four years of professional product design experience and my own artist project. As a designer and an artist, I am inspired by the possibility of designing a more empowering platform to support artists.
I have built my product design career working through a wide variety of projects and roles that have taught me to be an adaptable designer, a quick learner, and an enthusiastic collaborator. I feel just as at home in the weeds of a sketch file fine-tuning a prototype as I do speaking to users about their pain points and needs.
The most pertinent experience I can offer Apple Music for Artists is through my time at Recover Athletics, an early-stage health-tech company where I was The Head of Product. I worked closely with the executive team to design and launch the entire web app, an iOS mobile app, landing pages, emails, and the brand. I learned how to conduct effective product research, prototype new features, rapidly design high fidelity mockups, and create clear documentation and pixel-perfect deliverables. Outside of product design, I managed the three-person engineering team and collaborated closely with the COO and CEO to strategize and roadmap product development at Recover. We launched successfully and grew the app to roughly 5,000 active users in 6 months with 83% 30-day retention of our paid users. I would be excited to apply this experience to support Apple Music’s product team in empowering artists.
As an artist myself, I understand how laborious, frustrating, and nuanced building and maintaining a career in music can be. I know how overwhelming and confusing planning, releasing, tracking, and growing an audience can be both for an independent artist and for an A&R. I personally understand why there is a need for simpler and more empowering tools.
I am a product designer because I love to solve visual problems that improve people’s lives. I am an artist because I need to express myself. I am inspired by Apple’s commitment to supporting artists and its commitment to creating the best user experiences. I am confident that if given the chance, I would be able to effectively research artists’ experiences, design meaningful solutions to support them, and support the Apple Music for Artists team as a compassionate team player. Thank you for considering my application!
Sincerely,
Stevie Gleason

Here is some more of my work.
Usic
Usic is an analytics platform for the music industry. It makes it easier for record labels and agencies to discover new talent. It’s designed and built on the principle of inclusive capitalism.
I worked closely with the founders to develop a product strategy and design early mock-ups for their mobile app, which is still in beta.
